KNODOS 58mm Bottomless Portafilter for E61 Group Head — Rosewood Handle

The E61 group head is the most widely used 58mm brew group in espresso. This bottomless portafilter is built with the standard E61 2-ear lug design, a stainless steel body, and a dense rosewood handle. It replaces the stock spouted portafilter on any E61 machine and opens up a direct view of the extraction from below the basket.

E61 Universal Fit

The E61 group head has been the standard for semi-commercial and prosumer espresso machines for decades. This portafilter uses the correct 2-ear lug dimensions to lock into any E61 machine with a quarter turn. Compatible machines include Rocket, ECM, Profitec, Lelit, Ascaso, VBM, Bezzera, Quick Mill, and Flair 58 — plus any other machine with a standard E61 58mm group head.

18–21g Double Shot Basket

Ships with a stainless steel double shot basket rated for 18–21 grams. This covers standard espresso doses for most coffee and grind profiles. The basket is removable — swap it for a VST, IMS, or other aftermarket precision basket anytime.

Rosewood Handle

Rosewood adds weight and balance to the portafilter. When loaded with a full dose of coffee, the heavier handle counterbalances the basket end, making the portafilter feel more stable in hand. The deep reddish-brown grain stands out against the chrome of most E61 machines and ages into a deeper tone over months of use. Naturally moisture-resistant — no oiling or treatment needed.

Does this fit a Gaggia Classic?

No. The Gaggia Classic uses a 58mm group head but with a different 2-ear lug spacing than the E61 standard. KNODOS makes a separate portafilter for Gaggia machines.

What is the difference between E61 and Gaggia portafilters?

Both are 58mm and 2-ear, but the lug spacing and angle are different. An E61 portafilter will not lock properly into a Gaggia group head, and a Gaggia portafilter will not fit an E61. Always match the portafilter to your specific group head type.

Can I use VST or IMS baskets in this portafilter?
