Breville Grinder Trigger Integration

Most Breville machines with built-in grinders — Barista Express, Barista Pro, Barista Touch — use a pressure-activated trigger on the portafilter cradle. This funnel is designed to sit on the portafilter and press down far enough to activate that trigger. You do not need to remove the funnel to grind. Place portafilter in cradle, set funnel on top, push down — the grinder starts. Release when done. It turns the Breville's built-in grinder into a cleaner, more contained dosing system.

Coffee Funnel for Cleaner Dosing

Even without the grinder trigger, the funnel works as a standard 54mm portafilter dosing ring. If you grind with a separate grinder and transfer grounds into the portafilter, the funnel catches overflow during dosing, WDT distribution, and leveling. It extends the walls of the basket so nothing spills over the edge.
