Grinder Trigger Built In

Breville's Barista Express, Barista Pro, and Barista Touch activate the built-in grinder when the portafilter presses down on the cradle. This funnel is shaped to trigger that same mechanism — set the funnel on the portafilter, press down, and grinding starts. Grounds drop through the funnel directly into the basket. When the grind finishes, the funnel is already in place for WDT distribution and leveling.

Portafilter Funnel for Breville

Even without the grinder trigger, the funnel works as a standard Breville portafilter funnel. It extends the basket walls to catch stray grounds during dosing from any grinder — standalone grinders like Niche, DF64, or hand grinders included.

Espresso Puck Screen 54mm

The 54mm puck screen is a fine mesh disc placed on top of the coffee puck after tamping. When water enters the portafilter, the screen spreads it across the full surface of the puck before it reaches the coffee. This reduces channeling and blocks spent coffee from sticking to the shower screen.

How to Use — Step by Step

1. Place your 54mm Breville portafilter in the machine cradle.

2. Set the silver dosing funnel on top of the portafilter.

3. Press down to activate the built-in grinder — grounds flow through the funnel into the basket.

4. Release when dosing is complete.

5. Remove the funnel, distribute with a WDT tool, and tamp.

6. Place the puck screen on top of the tamped puck.

7. Lock the portafilter into the machine and extract.
