KNODOS 58mm Walnut Espresso Distribution Tool — Adjustable Depth Coffee Leveler
The most popular distributor in the KNODOS lineup. A 58mm coffee leveler with a walnut handle and adjustable stainless steel base. Spin it on your grounds to create a perfectly level surface before tamping. Fits any machine with a standard 58mm portafilter — E61, Gaggia, Rocket, ECM, Profitec, Lelit, Rancilio, La Marzocco, and more.
One Spin, Level Bed
Set the distributor on top of your grounds and give it a gentle rotation. Three angled blades sweep coffee from the center outward, filling gaps at the edges and pushing down high spots. After one or two spins, the entire surface is flat and ready for tamping. No more tapping the portafilter on the counter or raking grounds with your finger.
Adjustable Depth
The threaded base lets you set blade depth to match your dose. Once dialed in for your regular recipe, the setting holds shot after shot. Only adjust when you change dose weight, bean, or grind size enough to change the volume of grounds in the basket.
Walnut Handle
Solid walnut — warm mid-tone brown that looks natural next to any espresso machine. The most popular wood choice across the KNODOS range because it matches everything. Heavier than maple for a more substantial feel in hand. Moisture-resistant and built for daily use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a distributor really improve espresso?
It improves consistency. An even coffee bed leads to even tamping, which leads to even extraction. Most users notice less channeling and more repeatable shots after adding distribution to their workflow.
Can I skip the distributor and just tamp?
You can, but your results will be less consistent. Tamping on an uneven surface creates a puck with varying density — and water always finds the weakest point. A distributor takes 2 seconds and removes that variable.
Why walnut over maple or rosewood?
Walnut is the most versatile — warm enough to look good against any machine finish, heavy enough to feel solid, and the same wood used across the KNODOS tamper, portafilter, and station lineup.
Do I need 58mm or 58.5mm?
58mm fits stock baskets. 58.5mm fits aftermarket precision baskets (IMS, VST, Pullman). Measure your basket if unsure.
