This 58mm portafilter without spout is the natural next step — it replaces the stock spouted portafilter with an open-bottom design that lets you watch espresso extract directly from the filter basket. Built with Gaggia-specific 2-ear lugs, a solid walnut handle, and an 18–21g stainless steel basket.

What You Gain by Going Spoutless

With the stock Gaggia portafilter, espresso disappears into the spout and comes out as two streams. You taste the result but never see the process. An open portafilter removes that barrier. You see the espresso emerge from the basket surface — where it starts, how evenly it flows, whether it channels to one side. Made for Gaggia — Not E61

Gaggia machines use 58mm group heads with 2-ear lugs, but the lug spacing is specific to Gaggia. It is not the same as E61. If you buy an E61 portafilter, it will not lock properly into your Gaggia. This portafilter uses the correct Gaggia dimensions — it seats flush, locks tight, and does not wobble. Fits Gaggia Classic, Classic Pro, E24, and Evo.

18–21g Double Shot Basket

Gaggia Compatibility

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Gaggia Classic portafilter the same as E61?

No. Both are 58mm with 2-ear lugs, but the lug spacing and angle are different. A Gaggia portafilter only fits Gaggia machines. An E61 portafilter only fits E61 machines. They are not interchangeable.

What does a portafilter without a spout actually do?

I have a Gaggia Classic Pro — is this the right portafilter?
