KNODOS 58mm Naked Portafilter for Gaggia Classic & Classic Pro — Rosewood Handle

A spoutless 58mm portafilter designed specifically for Gaggia espresso machines. The open bottom exposes the full underside of the filter basket, letting you watch espresso flow directly from the basket into your cup. Built with the correct Gaggia 2-ear lug spacing, a dense rosewood handle, and an 18–21g double shot basket. Fits Gaggia Classic, Classic Pro, E24, and Evo.

Why Remove the Spout

The spouted portafilter that ships with your Gaggia hides the extraction behind two metal tubes. You cannot tell if the shot is channeling, pulling unevenly, or extracting off-center until you taste it. A portafilter without a spout shows all of that in real time. Uneven flow, side channeling, dead spots — everything becomes visible the moment you start the pump.

Gaggia-Specific 2-Ear Lugs

The Gaggia Classic and Classic Pro use 58mm portafilters with 2-ear lugs — but the lug spacing is different from E61 machines. An E61 portafilter will not lock properly into a Gaggia group head. This portafilter is machined with the exact Gaggia lug dimensions, so it seats flush and locks with a clean quarter turn.

18–21g Double Shot Basket

Ships with a stainless steel basket for 18 to 21 grams of ground coffee. The basket is removable — swap it for aftermarket baskets from IMS, VST, or other brands when you want precision tolerances.

Rosewood Handle

Rosewood is the heaviest handle wood in the KNODOS range. On the Gaggia Classic — a compact machine — the heavier handle adds balance and makes the loaded portafilter feel more stable in hand. The deep reddish-brown grain stands out against the Gaggia's chrome group head and develops a richer color over time. Naturally moisture-resistant — no treatment required.

Gaggia Compatibility

Fits Gaggia Classic, Gaggia Classic Pro, Gaggia E24, and Gaggia Evo. Does not fit E61 machines (different lug spacing) or Breville 54mm machines (3-ear lugs).

Can I use an E61 portafilter on my Gaggia Classic?

No. Both are 58mm and 2-ear, but the lug spacing is different. An E61 portafilter will not lock securely into a Gaggia group head. You need a Gaggia-specific portafilter.

What is the difference between a bottomless and a naked portafilter?

They are the same thing. Bottomless portafilter, naked portafilter, and portafilter without spout all describe a portafilter with the bottom removed so you can see the extraction directly from the filter basket.

Will my espresso taste different with an open bottom portafilter?

No. Those are super-automatic machines with a different brewing system. This portafilter fits semi-automatic Gaggia machines — the Classic, Classic Pro, E24, and Evo.

Yes. The portafilter body accepts any standard 58mm filter basket. IMS and VST precision baskets fit without modification.
