The KNODOS 54mm Stainless Steel Dosing Funnel and Puck Screen Set is a two-piece kit for Breville's 54mm portafilter. The magnetic dosing funnel catches stray grounds during dosing and WDT, while the puck screen distributes water evenly across the tamped puck and keeps the shower screen clean. Both pieces are food-grade stainless steel — heavier and more durable than aluminum alternatives. Fits Barista Express, Pro, Touch, Bambino Plus, Infuser, and Duo Temp Pro.

Stainless Steel Coffee Dosing Ring

The dosing ring is a magnetic funnel that clips onto the top of your 54mm portafilter basket. It extends the walls upward so coffee grounds stay contained while you dose, stir with a WDT tool, or use a distributor. The stainless steel body is heavier than aluminum — it stays in place with more authority. Magnets hold it to the portafilter rim. Lift it off before tamping.

Espresso Filter Screen 54mm

The 54mm filter screen is a fine-mesh stainless steel disc that goes between the coffee puck and the group head. Water hits the screen first and spreads evenly before reaching the coffee. This reduces surface channeling and catches coffee fines that would otherwise clog the shower screen.

Why Stainless Steel Over Aluminum

Stainless steel is denser and more scratch-resistant than anodized aluminum. It handles repeated contact with metal portafilters and cleaning chemicals without wearing down. The trade-off is weight — stainless steel adds slightly more grams when weighing doses. If weight sensitivity matters, the anodized aluminum version is available.

How to Use — Step by Step

1. Place the magnetic dosing funnel on top of your 54mm portafilter.

2. Dose ground coffee into the portafilter — the funnel catches stray grounds.

3. Use a WDT tool to distribute grounds evenly.

4. Remove the dosing funnel and tamp.

5. Place the puck screen flat on top of the tamped puck.

6. Lock the portafilter into your Breville and extract.

7. After the shot, knock out the puck and rinse both pieces.
