Level your grounds in one spin. This 58.5mm coffee distributor sits on top of the grounds in your portafilter and pushes them into a flat, uniform surface before tamping. From Uneven to Uniform

Coffee grounds land unevenly in the basket after dosing — higher in the center, lower at the edges, gaps in between. If you tamp on top of an uneven surface, the puck ends up with dense and thin spots. Water channels through the thin spots and under-extracts the dense ones. A distributor eliminates this by creating a perfectly level surface before the tamper touches it.

Adjustable Depth Control

The base rotates to set the blade depth. Match it to your dose — a 20g dose sits higher in the basket than an 18g dose, so the blades need to reach different depths. Set it once for your regular dose and it locks in place. Adjust only when you change dose weight significantly.

58.5mm for Precision Baskets

Precision baskets from IMS, VST, and Pullman have a slightly larger internal diameter (58.5mm) than stock baskets (58mm). This distributor matches that larger diameter. If you use a stock basket, the 58mm version is the correct size.

Where does the distributor fit in the puck prep workflow?

After WDT, before tamping. Dose your coffee, stir with a WDT tool to break clumps, spin the distributor to level the surface, then tamp on the flat bed.

Is a distributor the same as a tamper?

No. A distributor levels the grounds without compressing them. A tamper compresses the leveled grounds into a firm puck. They are separate tools used in sequence.

Do I need 58.5mm or 58mm?

Measure the inside diameter of your basket. Stock baskets are typically 58mm. Aftermarket precision baskets (IMS, VST, Pullman) are 58.5mm. Match the distributor to the basket.
